Oh Happy Day!!!!

A lot of people know that I've become this huge health freak and gym rat since I moved here to Vegas. Last August, I started working out at a gym called CrossFit Las Vegas (if you want to check out the website, go to www.cflasvegas.com or you can check out the main CrossFit page at www.crossfit.com). This gym is like no other gym...they combine all different types of workouts ranging from running, olympic weightlifting, body weight workouts (pull ups, push ups), & gymnastic ring exercises. CrossFit helps you in improve in 10 different areas: Cardiovascular and Respiratory endurance, Stamina, Strength, Flexibility, Power, Speed, Coordination, Agility, Balance, and Accuracy.

It's sad to say some people get intimidated by the workouts and they refuse to check out the gym. However, there have been quite a few people that like it and see that it's a great workout and lifestyle change. I can say that since I started at CrossFit, I have improved dramatically in the 10 areas previously mentioned. People may say paying $150 a month is crazy and not worth it, but I can really say it has been worth it. I feel better about myself, I feel like I'm getting in the best shape I have ever been in, and I enjoy the environment of the gym (it's like no other gym I've been to).

This past Saturday when I went to CrossFit, I received one of the most exciting news I have ever gotten in my life. After the workout, one of the trainers (Joe) pulled myself and another lady aside. Joe informed myself and the other lady that there was a CrossFit Level 1 Certification class coming up in April and it was going to be held at our CrossFit gym. To take the certification class, it costs $1000. That is a lot of freakin' money!!! Anyways, Joe informed us that they were extending a scholorship to the CrossFit Level 1 Certification class to myself, the other lady, and 3 other people. I was shocked!!! I really wanted to get certified back when they had a certification class in October, but I didn't have $1000 to spare to take the class....however, I don't have to worry about it now since I will be able to get certified without having to pay.

I'm so excited to get certified and actually be able to help train at our CrossFit gym. Honestly, I don't even have to get paid to train, but I will find joy in helping others get into shape since it is one of my passions. I have done a few beginner's class to help with the training portion, so I've been exposed a little to it. However, after April 26th....I will have the certificate to back up me up!!

Cool, so you can train me after I have the baby.

Oh, and I did know that they played soccer. Actually though, soccer is my family's sport-as in most other Latin families. But it's hard core in my fam. My uncle and stepdad both coached for years. ALL of us (in my fam and extended) have played organized soccer. Whether for city leagues or for school, since we were peewee age. Ha ha! So yeah, if he's got soccer skills, it's from me-if he's got football skills, it's probably from George.

He's a pretty impressive athlete at such a young age tho.

OK, so let me know when you get certified as a trainer-I am sure i could use your help post-baby

yeah, I did go snowboarding 1/2 way through my pregnancy... but it was SO fun! Hey, I do kickboxing a few times a week anyway-I don't think it's harmful. :) keeps me in as good as shape as I can get, I guess.
I think we may go one more time this season :) (or at least, I hope we do).
