CrossFit Level 1 Certification!

I joined CrossFit back in August of 2008. CrossFit was something that I wasn't even interested in, but my former roommate, Ali'i told me about it and I was very hesitate to check it out. I ended up going to CrossFit one day just to check it out. The workout was a butt kicker, but after the workout I felt great. I told myself and the trainers that I was going to come only once a week, but within that one week, I went 4 times so I decided to join the monthly membership that they had instead of paying for the single classes.

Over the months, I've been going to CrossFit, trying to better myself when it comes to breaking personal records with olympic weight lifting, named WOD (workout of the day), as well as diet and nutrition. I've seen a lot of improvement and its the best feeling to see that I'm bettering myself as an athlete & person.

I was blessed to be given a scholarship from the owners of the CrossFit that I go to here in Las Vegas for The CrossFit Level 1 Trainers' Certification Class. This is a class that cost $1000 and I was able to do it for free. The certification was incredible. The lectures were very informative and interesting to realize the importance of everything in CrossFit. The group work on form and technique with the fundamental movements was a great way to eye out the wrongs and rights when training people. Finally, the workouts during the certification were butt kickers, but great to know that I was pushed to my intensity in a safe manner.

I'm so lucky to have the opportunity to train others since going to the gym and working out has been one of my hobbies and passions since I've been here in Vegas. I love the fact of having a job that I absolutely love doing. Its great to know that the owners of CrossFit Las Vegas have faith in me to become a trainer and build the community that's at and will be at CrossFit Las Vegas.

All I Need Is Hope

The dictionary defines HOPE as "the feeling that what is wanted can be had or that events will turn out for the best". We all go through times when we feel like we can't go on and just want to give up on life. Sometimes, its hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel and it seems like the tunnel is never ending. I feel like the harder I work, the harder I get hit with things. I may think I'm strong to press forward, but seems like I've been stationary like pushing a 1 ton boulder.

At this point in my life I feel like all I have left to feel is HOPE. The HOPE that things will get better. The HOPE for the ability to conquer my trials & tribulations. The HOPE that I will be able to reach the end of the tunnel.
