A couple of months ago, one of my agents from the Modeling/Talent Agency I'm with sent me an email for a McDonald's ad gig that they needed people that are comfortable in front of the camera. I emailed her back with my picture and got a quick response back from her that I got the gig.
We ended up going to a production studio to go the filming for this ad. We found out that there was a McDonald's opening on the strip and it was going to be a high tech type of McDonald's. The ad that we were filming was going to be displayed on the marquee outside the McDonald's. We were all excited about this since we would be on a marquee on the Las Vegas Strip!!!
We went in the filming studio one by one and did little takes of short lines and acting scenes. It was a little hard at first since we were put between two stands that were like just shoulder's length apart and we couldn't move our body...or I was told not to...looks like some of the other models were able to when I saw the ad. After we did our filming of the ad, we went into the recording studio to do out voice overs. The whole experience was really cool and I was glad that I got to do something like this....and most of all I was on a marquee on the Las Vegas Strip!!!
Here's the ad that played on the marquee....I look like a dork at times...LoL!! Enjoy!!

Back Together
So, after 1 1/2 months of being separated which I know to many isn't a long time, Joey returned from Korea. However, it seemed like forever for the both of us as we were always joined at the hips since we've been together in August. It was a bittersweet reunion.
For those that didn't know, Joey had gotten a dance gig in Korea. It has been one of his dreams to travel the world and it finally came true with his gig he landed. He had gotten the position as Dance Captain and the owner of the production company was starting to train him on the production side of the business. Come to find out while they were in Korea, the investors that invested in the show didn't have the money to pay the performers. They had spent too much of their budget on advertisements. Due to this stupid action, it costed some of the performers to leave the show since it was a brechment of their contract. The ones that stayed back found out that the owner of the production company decided to cancel the show since they weren't getting paid. Hence, the reason I said it was a bittersweet reunion because Joey's dream was crushed.
For those that haven't met Joey, he's the sweetest guy ever. Very mature, very funny, and very handsome. I don't think I have ever gotten along with any of my boyfriends like I do with him. When we get into arguements, we pretty much take care of them right then and there...even when I'm the hard headed one and needs time to try and cool off. LoL!! I'm glad that he's over the whole clubbing scene since I'm over that as well from the past years. However, we love to dance so we would take dances classes together here and there. I drag him out to my hip-hop classes although it's not the style he was trained in, but he's getting better at it. I'm just really lucky to have a great guy like him in my life.
To some people's surprise, I took Joey up to Utah during Thanksgiving to meet my family. I had asked my dad for permission to bring him up with me to be respectful and my dad was kind enough to say it was ok. I just wanted my family to meet the person that makes me happy...not to flaunt my lifestyle in their faces in a disrespectful way, hence the reason I asked my dad for permission. I just think it's only fair that if I'm their son, why can't I share what makes me happy? I'm not asking them to accept my lifestyle, but to just accept me as their son and to be happy that I'm happy living my life the way I do.
This is a picture Joey took and sent me while he was in Korea...it's a little inside joke that we have going on.....

Its About Time

So, I've been unemployed for a little over 2 months right now. I was devastated when I found out that I had lost the dream job that I worked so hard for while I was at the Rio. After being laid off, I have been having the hardest time finding a job that's hiring. When I got laid off, I had applied for The M Resort that's scheduled to open on March 2009. I went online to check out the positions that were opened and unfortunately there were no VIP Representative or Casino Host position open. I had to suck it up and apply as a Front Desk Agent. I told myself if I was able to work my up at The Rio, it shouldn't be a problem for The M Resort.
I had a screening interview back in November, where I was lucky enough to have a 2nd interview scheduled in December. This second interview was going to be a group interview so I was a little nervous since I would have to try and sell myself better than the others in the group interview. There were 18 people in the group interview I was in. After all the introductions of ourselves, mind twister game, and a question and answer session....3 of the 18 people were called to leave the room (I being one of them). As we left the interview room, the 3 of us were told that we were moving onto the 3rd interview in a few minutes. I had a 3rd interview with 2 of the assistant managers from Hotel Operations. The interview was very laid back for me as the two assistant managers made me feel comfortable. They came from Caesar's Palace which is the same casino family as The Rio. We knew a few mutual people that worked at both places, but that didn't stop them from grilling me with questions why I wanted this job and why I qualified for it. After the interview with them, I was told that I had a 4th interview on Jan 7th. I was told that I MAY be offered a job after this 4th interview so I had to bring in my documents to show that I'm able to work in the US.
Today, I walked into the waiting room for my 4th interview. I thought it was going to be a panel interview that I would have to sit through. As I saw more people walking in, saying that they had a 4:00pm interview I got confused on what was going on. They took all of us candidates into another room where we were told that we were going to meet with the VP of Human Resources. All of us walked into a different room and the VIP of Human Resources went around the room asking each of us a different question. She informed us that she was the last person to give us a "Yay
or "Nay" on being hired. She also informed us that out of the 45,000 applicants in their database, only 2,000 here going to be hired. That just made me pee in my pants even more, knowing that that number was over 50% of the people being eliminated. After we finished with her, we moved back into the room and were escorted to the other trailer, where we found out that we all got hired!!!! I was so relieved!! I was praying that I would get this job because I was sick of looking for a job and not working. I'm excited to start at this new Resort & Casino. It will be an awesome experience to open a new Resort/Casino. I know it will be chanllenging, but I'm ready for it all! I look forward to this new start for the year 2009.
